Play Dinosaur Valley by November 1 and keep it for free

Moonrise Studios has added Dinosaur Valley to its free-to-play VR game Moonrise Mini Golf, and there's a particularly nice reason to give it a go. The new 18-hole course is free to play through November 1, 2026, and anyone who finishes a round by then gets to keep it. The course arrived on October 20, with a $3.99 price planned after the promotion.

That's a pretty cool invitation: download a free game, spend some time putting around with dinosaurs, and finish with another full course permanently unlocked. Moonrise Studios clarified to us that a qualifying round can be the front nine, the back nine, or all 18 holes. Completing any one of those through November 1 unlocks the entire course. Downloading the game alone doesn't meet the requirement.

Four free courses before you even meet the dinosaurs

There's already a substantial amount to play without spending anything. Moonrise Mini Golf includes four free 18-hole courses, giving you 72 holes in the base game. Completing a qualifying Dinosaur Valley round during its promotional window brings that to five courses and 90 holes available to you for free.

Those original courses cover some pleasantly different settings. Lantern Cove takes you along seaside boardwalks, past a giant conch shell and toward a lighthouse. Neon Shroom Forest swaps the sunshine for glowing mushrooms, root tunnels and a towering Mother Shroom finale.

Pumpkin Hollow feels especially timely for October, with a Halloween village, a witch's cauldron and a giant jack-o'-lantern called the Great Jack. Atomic Skyways heads into a sunny retro-futuristic city, complete with a car wash obstacle and a rocket launch on the final hole.

Finish Dinosaur Valley by November 1

Dinosaur Valley adds a prehistoric river valley full of friendly dinosaurs. Its holes take you past a sleepy iguanodon, through a hollow log beneath a parasaurolophus, over a plesiosaur's humps and onto geysers. There's also a mud luge, followed by a climb up a volcano that erupts for the finale.

The permanent unlock makes this offer worth highlighting. Finish either nine-hole half or the full 18-hole round through November 1, and you can return to the whole course afterward without buying the $3.99 add-on.

The developer also confirmed that the unlock is saved to your Meta account as the course's opening-week achievement. It survives reinstalling the game or moving to a new headset, provided you use the same Meta account.

Moonrise Studios told us the offer is a thank-you to players who come and actually play a new course during its opening week. Giving those players the full course to keep is a nice way to reward spending time with the game.

Moonrise has already used a similar launch promotion for Glowtown, its neon city course. That course now costs $3.99, while players who qualified during its launch offer retain access. The official Dinosaur Valley announcement confirms the same finish-a-round-and-keep-it approach for the new course.

Bring a few friends along

You can play solo or set up private online rounds for up to four players, with join codes or Meta invites and voice chat. Daily challenges in the clubhouse offer another reason to return, with three attempts and your best result counting. Seated and standing play, left- and right-handed controls, and teleport or walking movement are supported.

Moonrise Mini Golf is available now for Meta Quest 2, Quest 3, Quest 3S and Quest Pro. Get it free on the Meta Horizon Store, and finish the front nine, back nine, or all 18 holes of Dinosaur Valley through November 1, 2026 to keep the whole course on your Meta account.
