Does Enshrouded have crossplay?
Enshrouded does not support crossplay between PC and PS5 as of October 21, 2026. Version 1.0 launched without cross-platform multiplayer. Keen Games says it is working on the feature, but has not given a release estimate. Friends on Steam and PlayStation currently need to choose the same platform to share a world.

Which players can share an Enshrouded world?

The player-count difference is worth checking before your group buys. Steam advertises 16-player co-op, while the PS5 store page specifies eight. If you are organizing a larger group, do not assume that a PC feature list describes the console version too.

Is Enshrouded crossplay coming later?
Keen's October 13 launch FAQ says cross-platform play is in development, with no estimate for when it will be ready. That is the current position to use when planning a group purchase. A roadmap request, console release, or ordinary update is not a crossplay launch date.
Check the developer's news page for an explicit compatibility announcement before buying another copy specifically to join friends on a different platform.
Can a dedicated server connect PC and PS5 players?
Renting a server does not bypass the game's platform restrictions. A dedicated server keeps a world available without relying on one friend's regular play session. It does not supply a missing crossplay feature.
Keen's server-hosting information explains the purpose of dedicated servers and links to its setup documentation. Before paying a provider, confirm that its product supports your group's platform. A listing that says “Enshrouded server” is not enough to establish PC-and-PS5 access, or even which version its instructions cover.
If two PC players cannot find each other, Keen's Dedicated Server FAQ covers the server browser and filters. Those Steam-oriented instructions should not be treated as a console crossplay workaround.
Does crossplay mean the same thing as cross-save?
No. Crossplay lets people on different platforms join a session. Cross-save or cross-progression lets someone continue their own progress on another platform. Neither feature follows automatically from a game being sold on PC and PlayStation.
Steam lists Steam Cloud, but that alone does not establish a transfer route to PS5. Treat a second platform as a separate purchase decision unless Keen publishes instructions that explicitly cover moving your progress between the two.

What should you check before buying with friends?
Agree on the platform first, then check the size of the group and how you want to host. A mixed PC-and-PS5 group should wait for crossplay or agree on one version everyone can use. A server subscription is a separate decision to make after that compatibility check.

Can I play Enshrouded solo?
Yes. Keen's general FAQ confirms solo and offline play. You do not need a group to start the game.
Do PC Early Access owners need to buy version 1.0 again?
No. Keen's launch FAQ says existing PC owners keep access. It also confirms that Early Access saves can convert for 1.0. Save conversion within the PC release is separate from transferring a save to PlayStation.
Will an Xbox release automatically add crossplay?
No. Keen names Xbox Series X|S among its planned platforms in its general FAQ, but a platform announcement does not establish multiplayer compatibility. Wait for the developer to name the supported platform pairings before planning an Xbox-to-PC or Xbox-to-PS5 session.
