Third-party heavyweights headline the latest Nintendo showcase as next-gen hardware support takes center stage

Nintendo has pulled back the curtain on a significant wave of third-party support for its upcoming Nintendo Switch successor. The February 2026 Partner Showcase highlighted a strong commitment from industry giants like Bethesda, Capcom, and Square Enix, confirming that major franchises will be making their way to the next-generation console alongside continued support for the original Nintendo Switch.

The presentation focused on a diverse range of titles, from remastered classics to brand-new exclusive experiences designed to leverage the increased power of the new hardware.

Bethesda and MachineGames Bring Iconic Franchises

One of the biggest announcements of the showcase came from Bethesda and MachineGames, confirming that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on May 12, 2026. Set in 1937, the game places players in the boots of the legendary archaeologist in an original story set between the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade. Players will use Indy’s iconic whip and sharp wits to uncover the secrets of the Great Circle, traveling from the halls of Marshall College to the ancient sunken temples of Sukhothai.

Todd Howard, Studio Head & Creative Director of Bethesda Softworks, commented on the partnership: "We have long been fans of Nintendo and the incredible community they have built. The original Nintendo Switch has been an incredible partner for our games, and with the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, we are excited to bring even more of our worlds to this personal, powerful platform. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is an adventure like no other, and we can’t wait for Nintendo fans to experience it."

Bethesda's presence doesn't stop with Indy. Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition is slated for a digital release on February 24th, with a physical edition arriving on April 28th. This celebratory edition includes all six official add-ons and over 150 pieces of Creation Club content, offering the most complete version of the Wasteland to date. Additionally, a ground-up remaster of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was announced for a 2026 release. Meticulously recreated from scratch, the remaster promises stunning visuals and performance enhancements for the 2006 Game of the Year, including the Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine expansions.

Capcom and Square Enix Reveal Next-Gen Milestones

Capcom shared new details on Resident Evil Requiem, confirming it will launch on February 27th. This latest entry follows FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft and series veteran Leon S. Kennedy through intertwining narratives. The game emphasizes immersion, allowing players to switch freely between first- and third-person perspectives while tackling intense survival-horror challenges.

On the sci-fi front, Capcom also detailed PRAGMATA, set for an April 24th release. Players control spacefarer Hugh Williams and an android named Diana as they attempt to escape a lunar research station. The gameplay features a unique hacking twist where Diana creates openings in enemy armor for Hugh to exploit with his heavy weaponry.

Square Enix confirmed that FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH will arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 on June 3, 2026. The expansive journey sees Cloud Strife and his party move beyond the city of Midgar into a massive world, featuring Chocobo riding and sweeping plains as they hunt for the elusive Sephiroth.

Exclusive and Indie Highlights

The showcase also revealed several unique projects tailored for the new hardware:

  • Orbitals: A Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive intergalactic co-op puzzle platformer. Featuring a retro-anime aesthetic, players control Maki and Omura as they navigate the deadly "Storm Wall" to save their home.
  • TOKYO SCRAMBLE: A survival-action game arriving February 11th. Set deep beneath Japan, players control Anne as she uses stealth and strategy to escape subterranean caverns overrun by "Zino," mysterious prehistoric creatures.
