Marvel Contest of Champions Is Now Available On PC

It has been over a decade since the launch of Marvel Contest of Champions on mobile. The fighting game’s popularity has led to a PC port for PC players to test their skills with their favourite hero, villain or Kabam original after the arrival of Jessica Drew, also known as “Spider-Woman” and Deadpool, my personal favourite Marvel character was convinced to reveal a hidden stash of rewards by Red Guardian. Earlier this month, players could open certain crystals to receive certain characters to add to their rosters and other rewards during the “Heart of Fire” quest. And of course, who can forget the limited-time supply drop celebrating the release of Thunderbolts, the final film of the fifth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Yelena Belova, one of the film’s protagonists, can be obtained in another current event in the game if a competitor tries hard enough. As more goals will be scored by vehicles in Rocket League and Minecrafters will keep crafting in any version of Minecraft they choose to roam and build freely in, let us reflect on what can be considered the next big step in the fighting game’s history, besides the arcade version that was established in 2019.

As one would recall, some champions have some experience in the elements of a fighting game before the launch of Marvel Contest of Champions in late 2014.

One notable enhancement of the new PC port of Marvel Contest of Champions is the striking graphics in fulfilling high-definition and sixty frames per second, and a user interface optimised for the PC side of the timeline of contests, whether the player prefers to play with their keyboard or a compatible controller. If you ask me, the cross-play functionally between the mobile and PC ports is a nice bonus as a reminder of the cross-play between the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation Vita ports of Catherine: Full Body, which is only available in Japan. Moreover, the PC players can witness the same monthly events and so on from the beloved original port for mobile players. Lastly, for the sake of the player’s overall enjoyment, some pesky bugs have been smashed - Hulk style. The launch of the game on PC is a reminder of the PC version of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart marking the main Ratchet & Clank series’ debut outside of the line of PlayStation consoles almost two years agoand as I expected, it is now available to add on your wishlist on Steam while the forthcoming PC port of Stellar Blade is available to pre-order.

Feel free to let me and my fellow gamers know if you prefer the new PC port or the original version for iOS and Android. We would be interested to know what you think.

In conclusion, there is something rather elevating about Marvel Contest of Champions finally being available on PC, especially for those who somehow resent mobile gaming for legitimate reasons. Either on their PC or mobile device, a competitor can still face the challenge issued by Dark Phoenix, join Yelena, Red Guardian and Winter Soldier on the duty in the swamplands and strive diligently with Scott Summers, also known as “Cyclops”, while artists continue to express their mermaid-related creativity in MerMay. Later this month, two new incarnations of Romeo and Juliet will fight in honour of their love for one another in Ravenswatch as Marvel fans continue to battle in the contests of champions, keep fighting in Marvel Future Fights in honour of its 10th anniversary and strike back once more in Marvel Strike Force. There is still hope for Wade Wilson, also known as “The Merc With A Mouth” to finally be playable in Marvel Rivals, considering how charming he is. Outside of gaming, feel free to tune into some ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) performed by Peter Parker, also known as “Spider-Man” …or witness a little fourth-wall wreckage if you happen to be a fan of Deadpool as well.

“Deadpool here! Looks like I gotta lose the R-rated vibe for this one! After all, there’s no content warning. A special thanks to Laura, my virtuous vixen, for writing this article on the launch of Marvel Contest of Champions on PC. She flatters me and deserves a little shoulder massage for the dedication, don’t you think? Now, if you’ll excuse me, I, her favourite masked merc, shall knead the tension out of her shoulders tonight. It’s a wholesome running gag of ours based on a weird dream she had one time. Adios for now, reader!”

A special thanks to Alex Meyer for informing me about the well-deserved PC port of Marvel Contest of Champions. And a special thanks to Mr. Wilson for yet another special guest appearance.
