In Rays Of The Light Review

In Rays Of The Light is a walking simulator or a better word for it, a narrative-driven experience, but yeah it’s a walking simulator. Apparently, it’s a remake/rerelease of a 2012 game called The Light and it kinda shows.

This version released for the PS5 and it’s well, rough. It makes sense when you understand that the game is made by a sole developer so I won’t hold the lack of performance or overall roughness against it.

The narrative it conveys is really interesting. You play as a man who wakes up in a decrepit university building trying to understand what happened/will hppen. Yes. This is a story about nukes, nuclear war and mutual assured annihilation.

Nuclear war is bad and this game poses the question of “Where were you when the world ended?”. And it does a really great job of answering that.

Unlike many other walking sims, In Rays Of The Light has some logic puzzles thrown in for a little bit more fun and variety and I must say that for some of them you need to be on the lookout for what the notes spread out in the world say and really think outside the box. I loved one where you had to open a locker by taking a look at a clock. e light

It’s a short experience, you can beat it in a couple of hours and I must say that I really enjoyed my time with it. Of course, I would have loved it if it was optimized better for the PS5, but what is there is really cool,  intriguing and worth experiencing. Thanks for reading.
