"How did they fu*k this up?! Again?!", "This fu*king sucks!". You have heard it, I have heard it and I fu*king hate it. Can't we enjoy games as they are? Can't we have fun blasting aliens in the face with super weapons? Can't we just roam around the galaxy, explore cool planets and dive deep into an interesting universe? No, we always want more...
But then we get more, in DLCs and the same sh*t cycle starts all over again. Curse of Osiris offers a new story, a couple of new strikes, a new planet, a new raid, new activities, new loot systems and overall improvements to the game in general, but that just isn't enough apparently.
I loved every second of the story. Is it short? Yeah of course, but it's a "complete" story, meaning that it has an interesting start, a cool middle and a fantastic ending. Osiris is such a cool character which is accompanied by an even cooler character that is Sagira, his ghost. Osiris, in the Destiny lore, has been this larger than life character that has always been name-dropped here in there, saying how cool he was etc. but we see that in the story. Osiris is a complete badass with some kickass abilities and interesting insights about what happened, what is happening and what will happen to the galaxy.
If you'd like to see all the glorious screens I captured, click here.
And the best part of all? Again, you see all this, you go to the glorious past, live the present and witness the dark future and of course, you end up saving everyone at the end. The new explorable planet looks gorgeous as usual, but it's very small compared to the other places. The past and future versions are cool, but, as for the time being, we don't have a simple way of just traveling there. You can only access these parts in strikes or during the adventures going through the Infinite Forest which is a Vex reality simulation engine. The idea of it is so cool and I hope no, I am sure we haven't seen the last of it and the last of the cool places we will be able to reach through it.
The new adventures, which can also be done in Heroic now, are interesting and challenging if you aren't all geared up and ready to smash. Once you complete these heroic adventures, you unlock, let's call them, heroic bounties that when completed will unlock a cool Osiris themed weapons. At this time, there are only four available out of twelve so there's also that to look toward to. This forge mechanic brings back the inFamous grind back to Destiny 2 as you have to grind a lot to get all the necessary resources to complete the bounties.
There's also a new raid well...mini raid? It's a raid activity as Bungie likes to call it. It's short and it's kinda good, interesting at least. The traversing part is cool and requires coordination from all of the team members. So does the next part, where you have to find and charge skeleton head which then you use to defuse elemental mines. The final boss is also interesting, but at the time of writing this review, I have not managed to beat it. Many are saying that it is better than Calus, I don't know about that as I haven't played it that many times to see how it holds up.
Other than the PVE stuff, there's also three new PVP maps so if you want to play some laser tag (damn you Prometheus Lens), there's also that. There's tons of new loot to find and drop, cool new exotics, new equipment ornaments, expanded lore, improvement to the reward systems and a lot of balancing tweaks.

So to sum up Curse of Osiris in a few words, does it block content for vanilla players? Yes, but so did Destiny and no one cared at the end. Does the loot box stuff ruin the experience? Ruin is a very big word, but I would say it kinda diminish it. I would love if I could drop cool exotic dances, ships, shaders and whatnot not only from the Illuminated Engrams but also from Exotic and Legendary ones. Is Curse of Osiris worth it? If you are one of those people, you will find it lacking and you will cuss even more than you currently are. But if you love Destiny 2 like I do and want to have more to see, do, find, explore, yeah it's totally worth it. Thanks for reading!
