Yona: Money, Budget Finance For Couples & Families Review

Yona is a new finance app from Imperium Apps GmbH, the guys who created the critically acclaimed MoneyCoach app for iOS. With this new app, the developers have taken a new approach, make a lightweight finance manager app for couples and families. Yes, in Yona you can invite and sync to your partner for a unified financial experience.

Setting this up is extremely easy and intuitive as the only thing you have to do is scan your partner's QR code, that's it you are now connected. Of course, every transaction you add or your partner adds will appear instantly in real time on both devices. However, this is nothing new as it is mostly expected by apps nowadays. What these guys have done is, which I find extremely cool, is the ability to react to your partner's transactions in real-time.An image showcasing the game described in this article.

Let's say that your S.O has gone shopping and spent $100,00 for shoes or whatever, you can react with a ???? or a ???? to let him or her know your feelings toward the expense. This whole system sorta gamifies the whole finance experience cause well, managing your finances can be quite boring. From the looks of it, they will expand this system even more and I can't wait to see what they have in store for us.

The app also tells you how much you can spend during the day or the entire month based on the fixed income and expenses you set in the app. This is really good as you can immediately see how much you can really spend. It gets even better with the "Savings" slider. Basically, you can select how much money you want to save each month eg. Save $100,00 each month and the app will recalculate everything based on this. It looks like it has potential to save you money each month, but since it's too soon for me, I can't really 100% confirm it actually works. An image showcasing the game described in this article.

Adding a new transaction is fast as the only things you need to add are the amount and the category, but of course, you also have the ability to add a description, change the date and things like that.

As I said, Yona feels like a great lightweight app that goes straight to the point without much clutter. I will follow it's development and share any important news in the future. Oh, did I also mention that is free and has no ads whatsoever in the app, unlike many other finance apps? Well, you know now.
