Sony Network Entertainment introduced a new indie game area to the PlayStation Store called Indie Games and to celebrate it Retro City Rampage is 50% off.
This video outlines how the core of Retro City Rampage was crunched down into a real 8-BIT ROM and how real 8-BIT games are made.
Retro City Rampage, from what I’ve been hearing, started as a demake of GTA 1 or 2, so a fun project. But during it’s development this “demake” spurred into something altogether, something beautiful and the end result is fun, exciting and amazing.
Don’t Blink! Or you will miss the awesomeness in Retro City Rampage! Oh and yeah, download the game!
Retro City Rampage will be at E3, along with its crossover mini games playable for the first time. The bonus games included free within Retro City Rampage include the previously announced 8-Bit Splosion Man as well as… VIRTUAL MEAT BOY! Virtual Meat Boy is a pseudo 3D racer starring Meat Boy which riffs on Nintendo’s Virtual Boy and games such as Rad Racerand 3D World Runner. It can be played in either retina burning RED or you can dust off your red and blue cardboard 3D glasses and give it a go in REAL STEREOSCOPIC 3D!
