Nex Machina Behind The Scenes Videos!

The guys over at Housemarque have put together 3 behind the scenes videos that look a bit deeper into Nex Machina. More specifically about the Fluid system and Tech, Humans and weapons & Level Design.

Lead Tech guy, Antti Kerminen, talks about the unique voxel engine they have created and how things like dynamic fluids interact in the game. Small things that are easy to miss in all the action, unless you really squint and look. On the upside, all this mess makes up the unique modern retro look that is Nex Machina.

Level Expert, Henri Mustonen, deep dives into how the enemies behave and what really makes that "bullet hell" happen. In the end the core of Nex Machina is to dodge all these patterns and try to stay alive.

And finally their Media Manager, Rudolf Westerholm talks about base features like all the special weapons and also the Housemarque main stay of collecting all the humans. This creates the multi layered gameplay that allows players to adjust their skill as the game opens up through playing it more. Not all humans must be saved, but they are quite important if you want to reach for the top scores.
