Nalanda Technology Exhibiting at Big Data Scotland Conference
Big data is a hot topic, with many organisations currently perplexed in deciding how best to access, analyse, and, more importantly, utilise their big data.
The good news is help is at hand. At next week’s Big Data Scotland event in Edinburgh, The Data Lab will be running several ‘Data Surgeries’. As well as exhibiting, Glasgow-based Nalanda Technology will also be hosting one of them. The surgeries will be drop-in sessions with industry experts, “Doctors”, who will offer practical, executable advice to attendees covering the 3 current big themes in data: Data Strategy & Architecture; Open Data and innovation; and Machine Learning.
David Rivett, COO of Nalanda Technology, experts in precision search and discovery technology, will be one of the experts giving advice focused on data strategy and architecture.
“We are very much looking forward to next week’s event. Having exhibited and hosted a breakout session at last year’s event, the Data Surgeries will be a great opportunity for delegates to learn more about managing their data more efficiently and effectively.”
“This theme focuses on creating a strategy, and showing how to create value from data. Increasingly companies, both large and small, are beginning to realise the importance of big data, and how they manage it can have a direct impact on their productivity and performance.
“So much valuable time is wasted searching through data, and with the emergence of the Internet of Things (IoT) this is only going to get worse. If the average knowledge-related workforce spends 20% of their time searching, it seems they cannot be finding the material they are looking for in a precise and timely manner!”
“The main message I will be relaying at the Data Surgeries is that your data is valuable, so therefore you need to use it. There are various ways this can be achieved, but it is essential that organisations have a powerful search structure in place that can support better and more accurate decision-making.”
David Rivett is a founding Director of Nalanda Technology and has spent over 30 years in the IT industry involved in delivering many high profile IT solutions in both private and public sectors.
The Big Data Scotland event will give a unique insight into the growth of Big Data, Analytics & Business Intelligence from leading thinkers working across a wide range of industry sectors. It will give organisations the opportunity to share views and discuss issues, as well as meet with thought-leaders and peers to improve connections.
