A very interesting F2P title that’s coming soon
SKARA, The Blade Remains won’t fit into pre-existing video game genres. For that reason, the SKARA team created a new one: Multiplayer Online Versus, MOV, where players enter arenas to engage in the kind of real-time combat fighting seen in versus games.
Skara is a blended-genre MMO in development, seeking to mix ideas from fantasy role-playing games, first-person shooters, and even MOBAs to create a memorable experience. Players can customize their character weapon choices and race, with horizontal progression meaning no level gap will punish new players from old. The game will also feature an offline story mode and faction warfare that will change the course of the world.
The team behind it have been hard at work developing what could possibly be one of the greatest multiplatform free to play titles ever made. Yes Skara will be available on PC via Steam after a very successful Greenlight campaign, on Linux and will be definitely coming to the next-now-current gen consoles, PS4 and Xbox One.
Now I haven’t played the game personally so I cannot comment on how it plays or feels, but I guess you can get a great estimation of what to expect by watching their latest gameplay from their latest Alpha build. It looks very interesting, but as always with F2P games, there are a few things to keep in mind. Things like the size of the available content, locked content, the premium stuff, Free-to-play vs Pay-to-Win etc. When I get my hands on it, I’ll definitely write my impressions down, but till then enjoy the beautiful art and great gameplay bits.
