Grip games, a privately owned developer and publisher of games for game consoles and high-end portable devices, today released its second developer diary for the upcoming competitive, action-packed Foosball 2012. The game will be available for both the PlayStation®3 system and PlayStation®Vita system for a single price on the PlayStation®Network. In this, the second video developer diary from Grip Games, the team delves into the cross-platform features between PlayStation®3 system and PlayStation®Vita system.
Over the course of the video diary, Grip Games goes in depth on its cross-platform play capability features. The connective play feature of Foosball 2012will let players continue the progress they’ve made on either device no matter when they start the game. Through cloud storage within the PlayStation®Network, the games’ saves are automatically uploaded and synchronized between users’ PS3T and PS®Vita including all online statistics and trophies.
“With Foosball 2012, we didn’t want to create just another game with a version for PS3T and another version for PS®Vita,” said Jakub Mikyska, CEO of Grip Games. “We wanted an experience where platforms and devices didn’t matter because you will get exactly the same game including your current progress, unlocks, and DLC every time you start the game regardless of whether you are currently on PS3T or PS®Vita.”
Cross-play is also supported through online matches where PS3T and PS®Vita players can battle it out online against each other! Whether someone owns only one device or both, they can play anyone on either device so there will always be someone ready to compete.
Foosball 2012 will feature single and multiplayer modes along with Quick Match gameplay where up to four players can play simultaneously in a local match. The game supports both DUALSHOCK®3 wireless controller and PlayStation®Move motion controller support for ultra-realistic foosball controls that will make players feel like they are controlling a real foosball table!
