Crowbar Climber is a peculiar VR physics puzzler that perfectly encapsulates the "easy to learn, difficult to master" philosophy

Crowbar Climber is a peculiar VR physics puzzler that perfectly encapsulates the "easy to learn, difficult to master" philosophy. Armed with nothing but two crowbars for hands, you'll find yourself scaling increasingly devious vertical courses that seem purposefully designed to test both your patience and upper body stamina.

The core mechanic is straightforward – use your crowbars to climb. But the devil is in the details. The physics-based interactions mean every grab, swing, and pull feels satisfyingly weighty, though this same system leads to some frustrating moments when your crowbars clip through obstacles or get caught in awkward positions. These inconsistencies, while annoying, oddly add to the game's charm.

The presentation is clean and functional, with just enough visual flair to keep you engaged without distracting from the core challenge. The ability to record and share your attempts in both first and third-person perspectives is a nice touch, perfect for capturing those moments of triumph or spectacular failure. TikTok is already littered with people sharing their attempts at the game's most challenging parts and well, if you're looking to get some views on the platform, you can't go wrong with this game.

At $6.99, it's a short but intense experience. The game's difficulty curve is steep, and you'll likely find yourself cursing at your virtual crowbars more than once. This isn't a game for everyone – if you're looking for a relaxing VR experience, look elsewhere. But if you enjoy challenging physics-based gameplay and don't mind some intentionally frustrating design choices, Crowbar Climber offers a unique and rewarding experience. Just be prepared to fail. A lot. Thanks for reading!

The game was previewed on a Quest 3 via a promo copy provided by the developers. Crowbar Climber is available on Meta Quest and PCVR.
